About Futura PT Font

Geometric precision is the whole point here. Paul Renner's original design for the Bauer company in 1927 built its letterforms from circles, triangles, and straight lines — a direct expression of Bauhaus thinking. The Cyrillic extension was first developed at ParaType in 1995 by Vladimir Yefimov, then expanded and partly revised between 2007 and 2009 by Isabella Chaeva, resulting in a coordinated system in which every weight and its corresponding oblique share consistent metrics and letterform logic across the entire family.

Design Aesthetics & Character Characteristics

This is a geometric sans serif that reads as minimal and modern without sacrificing authority — the kind of face that feels equally at home in a tight headline or a spread of display setting. The family spans seven weights delivered as TTF files: Light and Book at the lighter end, through Medium and Demi, up to Heavy, Bold, and Extra Bold. Because the weights were harmonized as a system rather than drawn independently, stepping between them in a layout feels deliberate rather than jarring. Cyrillic character coverage is the defining feature of this release, making it the right call when Latin alone won't do.

Recommended Usage & Font Pairing

The weight range and geometric clarity make this a natural fit for branding, logo work, poster headlines, and magazine display — contexts where a professional, bold impression matters and where Cyrillic script support is either required or a useful safety net. For pairings, the clean rationalism of these letterforms contrasts well against the warmth of Canela or Rasley Heights, holds its own alongside the calligraphic character of Angeletta, and settles into structured editorial layouts when set next to Times New Roman or the expressive width of Dharma Gothic E.
